Historic Original Brent Spence Bridge Open House
We invite you to join us in reminiscing over the history, construction, and planning that went into the original Brent Spence Bridge. You’ll hear from a panel of workers who will recount their stories and share what it was like to be an ironworker working on the bridge in the early 1960s.
This event will be hosted at the Ironworkers Local 44 Union Hall to which these ironworkers belong. Business Manager Dave Baker will moderate our panel and touch on what the Ironworkers 44 Union strives for to create a workforce skilled enough to tackle projects like the Brent Spence Bridge. After the panel discussion, there will be an open house for networking along with historic photos, news articles, and select plan sheets to view. The Union Hall will also open their learning laboratory where Ironworkers are taught and tested on the skills of welding, bolting, and reinforcing steel tying. Food and drinks (limit 2) will be provided. Registration Link |
